Applications of Descriptive Psychology to Spirituality

Just as Descriptive Psychology has provided a culture-free descriptive medium for cross-cultural work and a language-independent descriptive medium for linguistic work, it provides a religion-free descriptive medium for thinking, talking, and writing about spirituality.

This neutrality has been put to good use in classic works by Ossorio (Religion Without Doctrine, LRI Report #19, Boulder, CO: Linguistic Research Institute) and Shideler (Spirituality: An Approach through Descriptive Psychology, Ann Arbor, MI: Descriptive Psychology Press 1992.) Work in this area continues.
